Five Rivers Camp

Camp Restaurant

The combination of Mongolian-style accommodation and western service plus nomadic environment will let you taste something that is extraordinary. The restaurant welcomes you from 7 AM to midnight. In the plate, cuisine inspired by local traditions. Highlights, beef, mutton and chicken with aromatic herbs that are abundant in our region. All is elaborated in a traditional manner or freely interpreted by our chef. No matter how long you stay, our talented and experienced chef will let you taste different flavors of Mongolian and European meals every single day.

And for breakfast?

Served as a buffet, English or German style breakfast is served from 7 AM to 10 AM. Bread gently baked on the wood-burning stove, vegetables from our greenhouse, fresh cheese made of pure Mongolian cow milk using traditional German technology, fruit jam from wild berries and much more, all fresh and organic. There is an abundant variety in the meals but they do have one thing in common: Freshness!

Comfort Is Everything: Familiar Environment in Nomadic Wilderness

The camp has a 24-hour electricity supply due to the combination of a generator and our solar panel system. The restaurant boasts an open air veranda and a super cozy atmosphere: You can relax while listening to traditional Mongolian music which blends perfectly with the nomadic environment all around you.

To provide you with the utmost comfort possible is our goal. That is why we installed hot sauna, hot and cold water shower, toilet and bio-toilet at your disposal. Everything is run by our eco-friendly technology for electricity and waste water. The gray water is used for watering our planted trees (bird-cherry tree, black-currant tree and sea-buckthorn tree).

Traditional Performances

Cultural Performances

The Five Rivers Geolodge welcomes you with warm Mongolian cultural performances, including folk songs, melodies and dances. While relaxing, it’s a pleasure to see the representation of Mongolian rich cultural heritage.

Mongolian Horse Show

Unique show organized once a year, where you will get an overall view of the nomadic horse handling culture of Mongolia. Even in the twenty-first century, Mongolia remains a horse-based culture and retains its pastoral traditions. Its 3 million people are semi-nomadic and support themselves primarily by breeding five domestic species. These are invariably spoken of in a set order: horses, cattle (including yaks), camels, sheep, and goats. The horse, which is used for transportation, herding, hunting and sport, is the most prized. In the words of a herder who lives outside Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia’s capital: “We Mongols respect horse as our companion of night and day. The horse is the source of joy and pride of a Mongolian herder. And we are nothing without our horses.”
